Rapper Wrecker Ball’s third album, Dirty, is nominated for five Grammy Awards.
The album, which features guest appearances from R. Kelly, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne and others, was released on September 23, 2017, on Warner Bros. Records.
Dirty is the debut studio album from the Chicago-based rapper and was produced by Wreckers Crew, which is a production unit led by Waka Flocka Flame.
Dirty’s cover art, which featured a mural of the band performing, was commissioned by the label.
“The Wreckering Ball is so excited to be officially nominated for the five Grammys this year,” Waka said.
“Dirty is the most polished album that we’ve ever put out.
It’s also the most unique.”
The group also collaborated with Wiz Khalifa on a track, “Wrecking,” which debuted at the 2017 MTV VMAs.
“We’re so excited about this album and so honored to be a part of it,” Wiz said.
The Wreck, whose members include Waka, Wrecka Flockah, Waka Fonda, Wacka Flocks, Wale, Ty Dolla $ign, Raekwon and Jeremih, formed in 2006.
They released the second album, T-Tricks, in 2015, and its follow-up, Wrecks, in 2018.
The group signed with Warner Bros in 2014 and released the third album Wreckin’ Ball in 2017.
It was nominated for three Grammys in 2018 and 2019.
“When we started Wreck’s Crew, we all just thought we were gonna be the next Wu-Tang,” Wreck said.
“[We thought] we’d be the new Wu-Thugs.
And we’re really honored to have been nominated for this.”
“We have been working on a new record and it is really cool to be here.
The crew is all excited to get this out and play it live.”
Wreck explained that the Wreck crew is just getting started.
“It’s just getting out there,” he said.
